1. Briefly describe your special skills and abilities. Include duties and responsibilities from previous employment and special expertise.
Through my previous experience I have expanded my skills in technological information management, as well as my organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills. I am experienced in strategic IS planning, configuration management, client server technology, technical training, and many other IS functions. While working as a Computer Systems Engineer and Project Manager for General Motors China, I led a diversity of projects including LAN/WAN re-engineering, GM Online package development and implementation, Y2K, and SAP. For each of these projects, I was involved at each stage, from the initial conception, through development, to final completion and implementation. I know what it takes to start a project on a strong foundation, to see it through to completion on time and on budget, and to motivate a team of workers in order to maximize creativity and output for meeting project goals.
2. Briefly describe yourself, your personal strengths, characteristics and personality:
One of the greatest contributions I made in my career was leading the EDS team in developing and implementing the GM Online 2.0 package for General Motors China. In less than 3 months time, we were able to upgrade and change approximately 270 clients to this new package. Since the changeover, this new package has successfully increased efficiency for the company and its clients. This was an enormous project during which I was able to demonstrate my leadership abilities. I planned and scheduled the project so that it was completed on time and on budget, and so that it surpassed the expected results. Perhaps my most important contribution, however, was the combination of my creativity and expertise. These skills allowed me to bring innovative ideas to the project, and to find and implement new solutions to make the final package more responsive to user needs and the needs of the company and its clients.
3. Briefly describe your greatest professional and/or personal accomplishments :
My best personal attributes are self-motivation, initiative, resourcefulness and adaptability. These allow me to work in a diversity of situations, and to contribute my unique creativity and expertise to each new project. I am a committed and dedicated professional who works well independently and as part of a team. I am goal-oriented and have a positive attitude that helps me to remain flexible in order to change with the needs of each project/employer/client. Because of my excellent analytical skills, I am able to see how each part of a project contributes overall to the whole project. This helps me to direct projects through development, making modifications at any stage in order to facilitate the end goal.
